Privacy Policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
Cuecite is a Mac app that listens to a call, finds the passages in your own documents that answer a question, and drafts an answer with its source. This policy covers the app and cuecite.com. In short: your documents, transcripts, audio and API keys stay on your Mac, and cuecite.com stores only what it needs for your account and your plan.
On your Mac
The app keeps its data in folders on your Mac: ~/.cuecite (settings, API keys, workspaces, the document index and saved sessions) and ~/Library/Application Support/Cuecite (speech models and caches). The settings file is readable only by your macOS user. Nothing in these folders is sent to cuecite.com.
- Documents. The workspace folders you choose are indexed on your Mac. The app reads only the folders and file types you include.
- Audio. The app transcribes audio as it arrives and keeps no recording.
- Transcripts and answers. A session's transcript and answers are saved on your Mac so you can open the session again. You choose how long sessions are kept in Settings → Sessions, and you can delete any or all of them there.
What the app sends, and to whom
Data leaves your Mac only to the services you pick in Settings, and the app names the recipient next to each choice. These services receive it under your own account or API key and their own terms; cuecite.com never sees it.
| When | What is sent | Recipient |
|---|---|---|
| Transcription with a cloud source | Call audio as it arrives | The source you chose: OpenAI, Google (Speech-to-Text, Gemini or Vertex AI) or Deepgram. With Local, audio stays on your Mac. |
| Drafting an answer | The question, recent transcript and the document passages it needs | The answer source you chose: Claude Code or Codex under your subscription, or the OpenAI or Anthropic API (or another endpoint you set) with your key |
| Optional features you turn on | Turn text, or document text when building the knowledge base or graph | The service named in that setting, such as OpenAI, Google Gemini or TypeSafe |
| Downloading a speech model | A download request | Hugging Face |
What cuecite.com stores
You need an account only for a paid plan. For an account, cuecite.com stores:
- your name, email address and password (hashed), and two-factor settings if you turn them on;
- each Mac you sign in from: the name macOS gives it, the app version and when it last checked in, so you can see and sign out your Macs;
- your plan: what you bought, from which payment source, and until when it runs;
- orders and payment events from our payment providers: amount, currency, status and the provider's ids. We never receive your card details or your bank account.
The website uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and cookies that remember display settings such as light or dark mode. The public pages count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server and sets no cookies: it records the page, the referring site, the browser, the type of device and the country, and not who you are. There are no advertising trackers.
Service providers
- Polar (Polar Software, Inc.) sells Cuecite as merchant of record for card payments: it handles checkout, payment, tax, invoices and refunds, and its privacy policy covers the payment details you give it.
- Paydia processes QRIS payments. It receives the order number and amount from us, and the payment itself from your bank or e-wallet app; we send it nothing else about you.
- Cloudflare delivers cuecite.com and protects it from abuse; it sees your IP address and request details.
- Oracle Cloud (Singapore region) hosts the cuecite.com servers and database; our own mail server sends account email from [email protected].
How long we keep it
Account data stays while you have an account. When you delete your account in Settings on cuecite.com, your profile, Macs and sign-in tokens are deleted. Orders and payment events are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your profile, sign out any Mac and delete your account at cuecite.com. To get a copy of your data or to ask anything about it, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date above and tell account holders by email before the change applies.
